Updates What's New

45 opportunity sources now active

Briifin 45 active opportunity sources visual

Briifin now collects opportunities from 45 active sources. Eighteen have been added since our last source update, expanding national coverage across the EU and adding more opportunities from the US and international buyers.

We’ve also made source activity public and tightened how mixed procurements are classified.

Product 2
The new Activity page shows which sources are running and how many records they process.
Technology Consulting is now a dedicated service category.
Sources 18
Twelve national procurement registers expand coverage across the EU.
One regional UK source adds more local opportunities.
One Australian federal source adds opportunities from across the country.
Two additional US sources add federal and local opportunities.
Two international sources add procurement notices from development and multilateral organisations.
Improvements 3
Mixed procurements are split into separate service claims before classification.
Procurement-code filters remove more irrelevant product purchases before enrichment.
Pagination, date handling and processing limits have been tightened across the new sources.
Fixes 2
Fixed several source links, date fields and detail records.
Improved handling of incomplete notices and repeated imports.

New opportunity sources in Canada and the US

Briifin new opportunity source plug visual

Briifin now collects current opportunities from CanadaBuys and technology service requests published through USAC E-Rate.

The new adapters preserve procurement documents and RFP attachments where they are available.

Improvements 2
CanadaBuys amendments are tracked so updated notices replace earlier versions cleanly.
USAC attachment rows are grouped into one opportunity with deduplicated RFP documents.
Sources 2
CanadaBuys adds current Canadian federal procurement notices with bilingual source information.
USAC E-Rate adds published technology service requests from US schools and libraries.
Fixes 2
Fixed CanadaBuys feed requests after the first production adapter rollout.
Updated the USAC cursor so modified notices are collected without relying on their original certification date.

Better at separating software builds from software buys

Briifin software classification search visual

Briifin now recognises more development work described as maintenance, modernisation or an upgrade. The same update filters more licence purchases, hosting-only contracts and single-role staffing requests.

We’ve reviewed the new rules against a 507-opportunity evaluation set before adding them to the production classifier.

Improvements 6
Development work described as maintenance is included when the scope contains continuing build work.
Modernisation, migration, rebuilding and platform-evolution language is recognised across several European languages.
Off-the-shelf software, SaaS and licence-only purchases are excluded from development tags.
Hosting-only, break-fix and single-role staffing requests are kept separate from project development work.
Recall has increased from 80.7% to 86.3% on the 507-opportunity review set.
The false-positive rate has fallen from 26.5% to 21.3% on the same set.
Fixes 2
Tags outside the defined Briifin taxonomy are removed before an opportunity reaches the feed and flagged for review.
Raw classifier output is retained separately so unexpected tags can still be investigated.

Information Security added

Briifin information security lock visual

Information Security is now a full sector in Briifin. It covers specialist firms working in security advisory, compliance, offensive testing, managed operations, security engineering and awareness training.

We’ve also widened ingestion for relevant security procurement codes and added clearer rules for separating service engagements from software and licence purchases.

Product 5
Advisory & Consulting covers vCISO work, compliance readiness and resilience planning.
Offensive Security covers penetration testing, vulnerability management and red-team work.
Managed Security Operations covers MDR, SOC, threat intelligence and digital forensics.
Security Engineering covers IAM deployment, cloud security and DevSecOps engagements.
Security Awareness & Training covers security training and tabletop exercises.
Improvements 4
Reliable service-related procurement codes can add Information Security tags directly.
Broader security codes are ingested without automatically asserting a service tag.
Secure general software work remains under IT and Software unless security is a main deliverable.
Real procurement examples have been added to the classification checks.
Fixes 2
Removed the old broad Cybersecurity grouping from the IT and Software taxonomy.
Added regression cases to keep physical guarding and ordinary secure software builds out of Information Security results.

Email and RSS alerts are live

Briifin email and RSS alert bell visual

Saved Views and Your Matches can now send daily or weekly email digests. Users can also copy a private RSS feed into a reader or automation.

The new Alerts page keeps the settings in one place, and every alert links directly to the relevant opportunity in Briifin.

Product 8
Email alerts can be enabled separately for each Saved View.
Your Matches can be followed through the same alert system.
Daily and weekly digest frequencies are available.
Digests include only opportunities that appeared since the previous alert.
Saved Views can be followed through private RSS or Atom feeds.
Your Matches has its own private feed.
RSS items link directly to the relevant opportunity.
Private RSS access can be rotated if a feed URL has been shared.
Fixes 3
Delivery records prevent the same digest from being sent twice during a retry or redeployment.
Fixed deep links losing the selected opportunity when the surrounding feed filters changed.
One-click unsubscribe allows an email alert to be stopped directly from the message.

Cleaner IT and software results

Briifin IT and software classification visual

The first week of beta has exposed several cases where broad procurement codes pull hardware, licences and support contracts into IT and software results.

We’ve tightened the CPV mappings, added more precise classification guidance and corrected several source-ingestion problems found while reviewing the live feed.

Improvements 7
CPV-to-tag mapping now uses exact codes instead of broad prefix matching.
Equipment, licence purchases and support-only contracts are excluded from IT and Software Development tags.
Advertising campaign services now map to the relevant Marketing categories.
Per-tag guidance gives the classifier clearer boundaries between adjacent services.
Reported and automatically flagged opportunities can be opened directly for review.
Confirmed irrelevant opportunities are withdrawn and reprocessed instead of remaining in the feed.
Corrections feed the self-fixing loop used to create permanent regression checks.
Sources 4
Corrected publication-date handling for Doffin and Amphora sources.
Corrected synthetic publication dates from Latvia IUB and documented the RKAS date limitation.
Fixed date-filter mismatches affecting Hilma and the German eForms source.
Fixed RKAS requests failing when its website redirects between domains.
Fixes 2
Fixed flagged opportunities failing during re-enrichment after moderation.
Fixed older versions of corrected opportunities remaining visible in some review flows.

The Briifin beta is open

Briifin beta

The open Briifin beta is live. It brings opportunities from public sources across Europe into one feed, with profiles, filters, Saved Views and an early matching workflow to help studios narrow down what is worth reviewing.

Reporting now feeds a self-fixing quality loop: users flag a problem, we review and correct the listing, and confirmed cases become tests for future imports. Briifin is free during the beta.

Product 7
Onboarding helps users set up their Studio Profile, target markets and preferred work.
Match Profiles can include capabilities, sectors, experience, budgets and preferred markets.
Review Your Matches provides a focused list of suggested opportunities.
Opportunities can be saved or dismissed while reviewing them.
Saved work is available from a dedicated Saved Opportunities page.
Saved Views preserve searches users want to check regularly.
The feed can be filtered by country, service area, opportunity type, budget and deadline.
Improvements 2
Reports enter a review workflow where incorrect or irrelevant listings can be corrected.
Confirmed corrections become regression checks that help prevent the same import problem from returning.
Sources 5
TED EU provides Europe-wide public procurement notices.
RHR and selected institutional sources provide Estonian opportunities.
Doffin and Hilma provide national coverage for Norway and Finland.
National sources cover Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Ireland, Poland, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and the UK.
Selected US federal and local sources provide international opportunities for teams interested in export work.
MCP Server 3
Briifin opportunity data can be searched from compatible MCP clients.
Results can be narrowed by country, category, budget, deadline, source and keyword.
Procurement documents can be retrieved when an opportunity includes downloadable files.
Fixes 4
Fixed Saved Views losing their selected filters when reopened.
Fixed source links opening the wrong notice or an incomplete procurement page.
Fixed several sign-in, logout and stale-session problems found during beta preparation.
Added quality checks that flag incomplete listings and keep unusable records out of the feed.

Review your best matches first

Briifin match review check visual

Review Your Matches now gives users a focused batch selected from their Match Profile. Useful opportunities can be saved, irrelevant ones dismissed and unfinished review work resumed later.

Match Profiles now include capabilities, experience, preferred markets and typical budgets, giving Briifin more useful information for matching.

Product 6
Match Profiles now include capabilities, experience, example projects, preferred markets and typical budgets.
Review Your Matches presents a focused batch instead of another long feed.
Each batch prioritises up to five strong matches and can fall back to three partial matches.
Saving or dismissing an opportunity advances the review to the next item.
Saved Views and Saved Opportunities are available from the main navigation.
Feed prompts help users complete their Match Profile or broaden an overly narrow search.
Fixes 5
Review actions are saved so dismissed and saved opportunities do not return to the same queue.
Fixed review counts becoming inconsistent after saving or dismissing an opportunity.
Fixed Match Profile capabilities and experience not always persisting correctly.
Fixed Saved Views losing selected filters when opened from the sidebar.
Fixed review and empty-state layouts leaving gaps or misaligned content.

The first rules-based matching alpha

Briifin opportunity matching target visual

We’ve added the first rules-based matching alpha. Briifin now scores opportunities against a Studio Profile using budget, sector and geography.

Every result includes a breakdown showing why it received its score. This gives us a matching system we can inspect and adjust as we review real opportunities.

Improvements 6
Opportunities are scored against the studio’s typical budget, selected sectors and home market.
Direct, adjacent and missing matches receive separate scores.
The score breakdown explains the contribution from each matching dimension.
An empty feed can suggest nearby countries and apply the expanded region in one step.
Opportunity titles can be translated into English while preserving the original title.
Studio Profile sectors are validated against the taxonomy used to classify opportunities.
Fixes 4
Fixed the Design category returning no results when its generated tag filter became too large.
Fixed Studio Profiles rejecting valid sector values during save.
Fixed saved-opportunity details occasionally returning an empty response.
Added protection against overwriting a Studio Profile when an API request times out.

Briifin is available through MCP

Briifin MCP connector visual

The first Briifin MCP connector makes the opportunity feed available to compatible AI tools and agent workflows. It uses the same structured data and filters as the web app.

This release focuses on opportunity discovery. Regular accounts receive three read-only tools for searching opportunities and understanding the available countries and service categories.

MCP Server 6
mcp_search_opportunities searches by keyword, country, service tag, opportunity type, budget, deadline, source and buyer.
mcp_get_taxonomy returns the sectors, service groups and tags available for filtering.
mcp_list_countries lists countries with active opportunities and can be narrowed to a particular source.
The connector uses Streamable HTTP through Briifin’s existing API infrastructure.
OAuth resource metadata allows compatible clients to discover Briifin’s authentication settings.
Generated documentation provides setup examples for clients including VS Code and Claude Desktop.
Improvements 2
Internal MCP tools allow the Briifin team to inspect opportunities caught by automatic quality checks.
Corrections pass through the opportunity pipeline so original and corrected records remain auditable.
Fixes 2
Fixed the OAuth resource identifier used when MCP clients discover Briifin’s authentication settings.
Tool documentation is generated from the implementation so names, filters and examples stay in sync.

The first working Briifin alpha

Briifin alpha visual

We’ve implemented the first ten data sources feeding one searchable interface. The core workflow now holds together from signing in and finding an opportunity to saving it and returning later.

The main feed experience is in place too, including search, filters, Saved Views, consistent opportunity details and mobile layouts. Classification and matching still need calibration, but the alpha works end to end.

Product 7
The feed presents the buyer, country, budget, deadline, source and service tags in a consistent card layout.
Responsive layouts make the main feed and opportunity details usable on desktop and mobile.
Country, budget, service-tag and opportunity-type filters can be combined.
Results can be sorted by publication date, deadline or budget.
Search covers opportunity text, buyers and service tags.
Opportunities can be saved and tracked as Saved, Submitted or Closed.
Saved Views preserve useful searches and filter combinations for later.
Improvements 5
Records from different procurement systems are normalised into one shared opportunity format.
Source documents are enriched with summaries, budgets, deadlines, opportunity types and service tags.
Amendments from the same source and duplicates appearing across several sources are consolidated.
Budgets are converted to euros where possible, and expired opportunities are removed from the active feed.
Incomplete or suspicious listings are flagged for review.
Sources 5
TED EU provides public procurement notices from across Europe.
RHR adds opportunities from the Estonian Public Procurement Register.
Doffin and Hilma add national procurement coverage for Norway and Finland.

Fixed service tags selected through search not always being applied to the feed.
Fixed budget selections disappearing after closing the mobile filter sheet.
Improved the display and sorting of opportunities with missing budgets or deadlines.
Fixed smaller mobile layout, saved-item feedback and tag-count inconsistencies.

The first end-to-end build

Briifin product visual

The first Briifin pipeline is running end to end. It collects current TED notices, stores the original source data, enriches each notice and publishes structured opportunities through the feed.

Studio Profiles and an early matching experiment are connected too. The interface is still basic, but the complete path from source to product works.

Product 4
The first feed displays structured opportunity cards from the Briifin API.
Studio Profiles store information about the company and the work it wants to find.
An early matching experiment compares Studio Profiles with available opportunities.
Secure sign-in protects profile and opportunity data.
Improvements 3
Raw source data is stored before enrichment so failed processing can be retried.
Enrichment extracts summaries, budgets, deadlines and classification data from each notice.
Structured opportunities are stored and made available through the Briifin API.
Sources 1
TED notices are collected through the official API using a resumable ingestion cursor.
Fixes 3
Fixed TED field mappings to work with the current version of its API.
Corrected the TED publication-date query so the intended notice window is collected.
Updated the ingestion cursor to store a full timestamp and reduce repeated or missed notices.
